This year (2026), I have begun the year turning the weekly sketches I made last year into a book. This has involved several boring hours/days of uploading files and editing the small amount of text that I am including. I am hoping to have this ready my the middle of the year and will be having an exhibition at The Corbett Community Library in November to exhibit some of the originals alongside selling copies of the book and also exhibiting some abstract pieces that I have begun working on based on the sketches I made.
The work I did last year (and continue to do)on my perimenopause series has had a lasting impact on how I am moving forward with my art. I have always been intrigued with the power of colour, but I am now also interested in simple mark-making and the use of shape within my work.
The pieces below, show some of this work and the start of some of these more abstract pieces based on the park.
